Solo Opera is looking forward to 2025, which will be their 25th Anniversary. For their 2024-2025 Season, the company has prepared some special multi-cultural family-friendly events. This includes an opera/outreach project called Lucinda y las Flores de la Nochebuena by Evan Mack and Joshua McGuire.

Solo Opera is interviewing new board members now for 2024 and beyond. Our mission is to educate, entertain, and enrich our community in the arts, esp. opera. We are looking for strong candidates who love the arts and music and want to share it with and uplift the community. Solo Opera will be at these exciting Festivals in May, June and August. Stop by our booth for a free drawing for a chance to win show tickets to The Three Feathers, photo op, and crafts for the kids! We will have lots of information there about our September opera too!
The initial Concord Spring Fest is on May 6th- 12:00- 7:00pm at Todos Santos Park!!
On June 3 & 4, Solo Opera will have a booth at the 40th Annual Walnut Creek Art and Wine Festival at Heather Farms Park.
Then on June 25, we will have a booth at the initial Concord Juneteenth Celebration at Todos Santos Plaza.
And, on August 3, Solo Opera will have a table at Concord’s Music & Market at Todos Santos Park. Come by and say hi!

On April 26th, we journeyed to the Walnut Creek Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau for our first orientation meeting! We received valuable information on chamber benefits and services, as well as other activities and initiatives. We also met a fun group of new members also!
A conversation with former California Poet Laureate Dana Gioia on life, learning and his latest book. Dana is the librettist and lecturer for our upcoming production The Three Feathers by composer Lori Laitman. He mentions our upcoming show at the end of the article. On February 5th, we had the great honor to meet Lori Laitman and Dana Gioia at the premiere of their symphonic version for tenor of “Becoming a Redwood”with the Sonoma County Philharmonic.
Lori Laitman is the award winning composer, and Dana Gioia is the librettist of The Three Feathers, our next opera production on September 8 & 10, 2023.
