Miguel González has a B.S. in Business Administration and an MBA from St. Mary’s College of California. He recently retired from AT&T where he worked for over 42 years in their Network, IT and Finance departments. In his spare time he is an avid trail runner and cyclist.
Miguel has been a lover of classical music since he was a young boy listening to the symphony on the radio with his mother. He attended his first opera production, La Traviata, at the San Francisco Opera House in 1983 and today he and his wife are regular season ticket holders. Mr. Gonzalez has been on the board of Solo Opera since their founding in 2000 using his financial skills to assist them in the various roles of Vice President, Treasurer, Co-Producer, and Publicist.
Miguel is also very active in his community. In addition to serving this year as Vice President and Treasurer of Solo Opera, he volunteers with different service groups such as the St. Agnes Mexico Workcamp, which builds homes in Mexico, St. Mary's College Latino Alumni, AT&T HACEMOS, and Contra Costa / Solano Food Bank. Mr. Gonzalez has been awarded the President's Volunteer Service Award every year from 2013-2018 for his many hours of service to the community.
